The story

Editions: from the standard edition of unknown size

Raoul Hynckes started out working in an impressionist manner, but later turned to ‘magical realism’. Born in Brussels, he came to the Netherlands during the First Worl War. In this poster he ‘lent’ the girl from the Kodak camera poster campaign. The Westlandsche Stoomtram Maatschappij was a local railroad operating steam trams in the The Hague area. This poster comes from the legendary Hans Sachs collection, confiscated by the Nazi’s in the 1930s and recently restituted to the heirs.
