The story
A Rozenburg eggshell porcelain vase painted by Samuel Schellink, 1914. A bottle shape with square section base decorated with a bird on a branch amongst purple lilac. High 10½ in ( 26½ cm), marked with the painted factory mark, yearcode, work order number 342, painters’ monogram and incised model number 89. A similar piece is in the Rijksmuseum, they have a pair also manufactured in the work order number 342 in July 1914. The Rozenburg factory closed down nearly a month later, in August 1914.
