The story

Set of six Pastoe chairs model SM05 designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, the Netherlands 1958. One of the first chairs which was constructed entirely of steel wire; the SM05. This is for a rare and early edition of the chairs in chrome plated metal wire that are no longer in production. Where these early chairs have a thick steel wire around the seat , the later editions were produced with a lighter and thinner double steel wire. The weight of these chairs is also substantially heavier than the later edition.

The timeless design of SM05 has been put into production again by Pastoe in 2013, but is only available in white and black.

This set of chairs comes with six newly upholstered seat pads. The pink-red-grey fabric is Walker by De Ploeg. The cushion and the shape of the backrest provide a comfortable seat.
Chrome frames are in very good condition. We have another set of four chrome SM05 chairs available from the later edition that could match easily with this set of six. In addition to this set it would look great as a set of 10 chairs. More info/pictures on request.
