Yesterday our team visited the opening of Art Rotterdam’s 17th edition, which brings more than 100 galleries together in the city’s historic Van Nelle Factory. The art fair focuses on contemporary art by young artists.

The main highlight is definitely the ‘Detroit Home’ by artist Ryan Mendoza. A home from Detroit was demolished and shipped in containers to Europe. The home was reconstructed at the main entrance of Art Rotterdam so visitors can experience the impressive installation by visual artist Mendoza, a world premiere.

Besides the ‘Detroit Home’ the ‘prospects & concepts’ sections in collaboration with the Mondriaan fund is a definite must see as well. Young artist who where funded by the Mondriaan fund in 2014, showcase their work at this particular section.

Don’t forget to have a look at booth nr. 54 (VanGoghle member: Seelevel Gallery.) Their work displayed is also available in our shop.

Art Rotterdam, Van Nelleweg 1, Rotterdam. Open: Thursday till Sunday from 11 am – 7pm. Friday till 9 pm. More info on their website.
