The story

A fine quality Louis XVI period mahogany Ladies’ Dressing Table. The top opens to reveal a fully fitted interior with central mirror, flanked by compartments. Beautifully inlayed with brass stars and decoration.

An antique dressing table is elegant, pretty and full of charm, placed in the bedroom it is indicative of glamour and all things ladylike. Antique dressing tables were originally used by the privileged and the wealthy: women who owned dressing tables were often those with social standing. Antique dressing tables almost always feature a table, drawers and a mirror; occasionally they feature candleholders for added lighting and side mirrors. The drawers of an antique dressing table are perfect to store valuables such as jewellery and keepsakes.
